NEXT: 13 December 2019 – Lanterns Across the Snow St Bartholomew’s Redmarley GL19 3JS [More…]
If you enjoy the thrilling sound of unaccompanied vocal harmonies then this is definitely the stuff for you!
The repertoire will be drawn from The Village Quire’s West Gallery and folk-harmony repertoire. West Gallery Music is the sort of music that you would have heard in the rural parish churches of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.
It is vigorous, direct, no-nonsense stuff that is great fun to sing. Our folk-based repertoire is specially arranged for The Village Quire, but with more than a nod towards the singing of the Copper family and The Watersons. Our workshop will be suitable for those with previous experience of harmony singing, but the most important thing is enthusiasm and a willing voice.
